Women's Soccer: McCullough lifts Falcons to 1-0 win

(Medford, Mass.) The Fisher College Women's soccer team won the contest this afternoon over the visiting University of Maine at Presque Isle, 1-0 at Hormel Stadium. The victory sends the Falcons to 5-5-1 for an overall record. UMPI will fall to 3-3-3 in their season.

Fisher's offensive effort was led by sophomore Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) who had the only goal of the game unassisted in the 86th minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) contributed 6 saves to the Falcon's defense in her 90 minutes of play.

The defensive effort for UMPI was led by senior goalkeeper Savannah Rodriguez (Presque Isle, Maine) with 6 saves in her 90 minutes of play. Although UMPI had no goals scored, the offensive effort was set by junior Alexis Ireland (Howland, Maine) who had 9 shot attempts in the loss for the Owls.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will play on Wednesday against the University of Maine-Farmington for a 3:30pm start. The University of Maine at Presque Isle will travel on Saturday to play Suny Canton with a 1:30pm start time.
