Women's Soccer: Falcons suffer setback at Suffolk

(East Boston, Mass.) The Fisher College Women's soccer team dropped a contest this evening to Suffolk University, 3-0 at James A. Sartori stadium. The loss sends the Falcons to 4-5-1 for an overall record. Suffolk slides to 2-4-2 in their season.

The defensive effort for Fisher was led by sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) with 8 saves in her 90 minutes of play. Although there was a slow offensive end, sophomore Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) and senior Naomi Vivas (Mexico City, Mexico) both were able to get in one shot each in the loss.

The offensive end for the Rams started with a goal by freshman Daniela Petronio (Chesire, Conn.) in the 24th minute of the game. The momentum continued in the 2nd half with 2 goals made by junior Delaney Hall (East Bridgewater, Mass.) in the win. The defense for Suffolk was held together by freshman Sophia Barker (Old Saybrook, Conn.) with 2 saves in her 90 minutes of play.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this weekend. Fisher will be hosting the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday with a 2 pm start time. Suffolk will be playing their Breast Cancer Awareness game home against Roger Williams on Saturday with a 3pm start.
