Yeryvel Catala Makes Her Season Debut And Helps Lead Falcons Volleyball To Their Second Straight Win

Boston, MA - Yeryvel Catala (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) made her season debut tonight for the Falcons and it was an impressive one.  The freshman outside hitter made her presence felt at the net as she paced the offense with eight kills to help lead Fisher (2-2) past the Lesley University Lynx (1-3), 3-0.

The Falcons played well as a team as they earned their second win in a row in straight sets (25-18, 25-18, 25-20).  The team got the lead in the first two sets, and never lost it winning the first two games by the same margin.  However, Lesley bounced back in Game 3, taking a an early 3-point lead, 3-6.  But the Falcons countered with their own 5-0 run to claim the lead 9-6.  Fisher never looked back and finished off the set with a 25-20 victory.

Chyna Carter (Avondale, AZ) continued her dominance on the court with another 9-kill performance, while Maura Lammers (Augusta, GA) added another five kills to the stat line.  Lesley was led junior Cassidy Wygonik (Madison, CT) who tallied eight kills for the visitors.

The team heads up to Maine this weekend for a doubleheader on both Saturday and Sunday as they take on Me-Fort Kent on Saturday at 4pm and 6pm and then a tri-match with Me-Presque Isle and Me-Machias slated for a 10am and 12pm starts.
