Cathy Courtney joined the Fisher Falcons staff in August 2016 as the Head Athletic Trainer. She was then named the Athletic Director for the program in July 2017 and oversees the day-to-day operation of the athletic programs at Fisher. In her short time as AD, Courtney continues to improve the athletic department. She was a key component in securing the partnership with the Winsor School for the use of their athletic facilities, a vast upgrade for the program. Courtney also played an integral role in the expansion of the athletic programs with the addition of Women's Volleyball in Fall 2017 and Men's and Women's Cross Country set to start in Fall 2019. During her tenure, she has been named President of the Northeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC), and is part of the Executive Committee of the Association of Independent Institutions (AII). On campus, Courtney is a member of the Advisory Board for VIBE, an on-campus group formed with the use of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Campus Action Project (CAP) Grant, as well as a current member of Fisher Today, and a participant on the Enrollment Management Group which primarily focuses on retention initiatives. 

As the Head Athletic Trainer at Fisher, Courtney developed an athletic department Emergency Action Plan and Concussion Protocol in line with the NATA position statements, and was named the 2016-17 AII Conference Athletic Trainer of the Year. 

Prior to her time at Fisher, she was a key contributor on the Becker College Athletic staff, serving as both the Head Athletic Trainer and the Senior Woman Administrator over an 11 year span for the Hawks. At Becker, she served on numerous committees, including the role as Chair of the New England Collegiate Conference Athletic Trainers Committee from Fall 2013-May 2015, and co-chair of the Health and Wellness student outreach subcommittee from Fall 2012 – Spring 2015. This committee was solely responsible for the smoking cessation program on both of the Becker campuses.

She also gained experience as a Head Athletic Trainer at Insite Health, LLC, the US Youth Soccer Association Girls Olympic Development Program, as well as the South County Physical Therapy office. Courtney is also a member of the National Athletic Training Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts. 

Cathy is a graduate of Lasell College, obtaining her Master's of Science Degree in Sport Management in 2016, and her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training Degree in 2003. She resides with her family in North Easton, MA.
