Falcons Sweep AII Player Of The Week Honors

Boston, MA - For the first time in school history the Fisher Falcons have swept the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Player of the Week Awards having received the award for both Men's and Women's Soccer and Women's Volleyball. Strong performances last week from freshman soccer forward Andree Molina (El Paso, TX), women's soccer midfielder Grace Roach (Hutchinson, MN) and women's volleyball setter Katherine Rodriguez (Fajardo, PR) earned the recognition of the AII for the first time this season.

Molina has been outstanding for his team during the month of September. In two games last week, Molina tallied five goals and an assist to help lead his team to a perfect 2-0 week. In the 4-0 defeat of the Anna Maria Amcats, Molina earned his first hat trick as a Falcon, giving him 27 points this season. He also added nine shots on goal for a team leading 22 total for the season. He also scored a goal in Monday's OT loss to conference rival Washington Adventist to bring his goal total to 10. Molina has notched a stat in eight of eleven games this season.

Roach, the junior midfielder has been a work horse for the Falcons this season, playing every minute of the 10 games played thus far. In two games last week, Roach added to her point total with a pair of goals in a tough 4-3 loss to Word of Life Bible Institute, while adding four shots over the two games. She now has a team leading 12 points this season. Roach also is second on the team in shots with 23.

Rodriguez, a freshman, has made a tremendous impact on the court for her team as the starting setter. Over the last three contests she tallied 60 assists and 35 digs, including back-to-back matches in which she had 20+ assists. Rodriguez also added six service aces in three matches while only committing five total errors over that stretch. She also hit the 200 assist mark on Sunday in a 3-0 defeat of the Lesley University Lynx.
