Boston, MA- After a succesful fall season for Fisher's four fall sports, the Falcons Record books have now been updated. And with that, four fall athletes have set new Falcons records in their 2019 campaigns. Junior netminder Christopher Garcia (Rowland Heights, CA) set a new record for wins and shutouts with nine and four respectively, junior goalkeeper Olivia Handy (La Verne, CA) shattered the saves record with 209 in 15 games, senior outside hitter Cynthia Huerta (Salinas, CA) beat her previous record set in 2017 with 328 kills, while freshman setter Katherine Rodriguez (Fajardo, PR) set two Falcons records with 480 assists and 85 services aces.

He led his team to a 9-win season, tying the best record in school history, and putting him a top the Falcons record book for wins in a season. He also earned four shutouts, good for first in the books as well. His 86 saves now puts him 6th on the all-time save list, while his 2.07 goal allowed is second best.

Olivia Handy was a force in between the pipes for her Falcons team this fall, making a record-shattering 209 saves in just 15 games. The previous record of 142 was set by Paige Ciavarro in 2016. Her 209 saves not only puts her first in Fisher history, but was second in the country, while her 13.93 saves per game put her at 3rd in the entire NAIA. Handy also added her name in the books with games started (15-4th), save percentage (.766-6th), goals against average (4.48-8th), wins (3-6th), and shutouts (2-3rd). Handy also made her presence known with her scoring ability as she finished with a goal and two assists this fall.

Handy's teammates Reilly Demers (Wilbraham, MA) and Meghan Menzel (Big Rock, IL) also will find their names in the Falcons record books after the 2019 season. Demers, a three-year starter, is now 8th all-time in career games played with 49. Menzel battled through injuries early on in the fall, but finished strong as she lead the team in points (19). Volleyball teammates Cynthia Huerta and Katherine Rodriguez had record-breaking seasons for their squads. Senior Huerta finished her Falcon career in a strong way as she was an AII All-Conference player, and overtook her previous record of 277 kills, smashing 328 this season. She also finished with 53 service aces, good for 4th on the all-time list, as well as 271 digs which puts her second behind Natie Manalo's 360 digs in the 2017 inaugural season. Huerta also finished with five blocks which is 5th all-time. Rodriguez, an AII Player of the Week, was outstanding for her team this season, both as a setter and a server. The 480 assists beat out Govanno Rosado's record of 421 set in 2017, and the 85 aces is 11 more than the previous record of 74.
