Fisher College Athletics Hall of Fame Awards - The Barbara Haggerty Award

The Barabara Haggerty Award is an award that is handed out for Fan Appreciation. Barbara was the mother of former Baseball standout student-athlete and Hall of Famer Kyle VanOfferen '07, HOF '09. VanOfferen began his career at Fisher in 2003 and his mother quickly became the face of the loyal Fisher Falcon fan base. She attended mulitiple sporting events and followed along when she could not attend the games in person. Barbara traveled all over New England to watch the games, something she did until she passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 that ultimately took her life but not before she was able to follow along one last time as her son and the baseball team captured their first conference title and NAIA Region X Championship. Following the conclusion of the game on the Cape, the entire Baseball team traveled to the hospital to celebrate with her. Later that year, at the first-ever Fisher College Athletics Hall of Fame banquet, this award was created in her honor.
