LINCOLN, ILL. – Last night at the annual pre-tournament banquet, the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) unveiled their 2020 All-Conference teams for both Men’s and Women’s Basketball. In total four Fisher College student-athletes were recognized for their efforts on the court this season.

Women’s Basketball

Senior Vivian Lara (Norwalk, Calif.) was selected to the A.I.I. All-Conference First Team after leading the Falcons to an overall record of 16-11 and the overall #3 seed in this year’s tournament. The veteran guard bolstered the Fisher offensive attack as she shot 37.3% from the field on her way to a team high 413 points scored. Lara was efficient from the charity stripe as she knocked down 71-of-84 attempts for an 84.5 free throw percentage. She appeared in 27 games for the Falcons in her final year, recording a game-high of 25 points on December 14 at Vermont Tech while registering two double-doubles on the year. This the second consecutive First Team selection for Lara as she was named a first-team member last season along with being selected as the 2019 AII Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year.

Fellow senior Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, Calif.) was tabbed as an A.I.I. Honorable Mention as she enjoyed one her best seasons in the Fisher Blue and Grey. The forward started 28 games, averaging 11.9 points per game and finishing with 332 points total. She was second on the team in field goals made with 136 (Lara made 138) and was a rebound machine leading the team with 206 rebounds and five double-double games. Eggers was also named the AII Women’s Basketball Player of the Week twice, on December 2 and February 10.

Junior Jennifer Rosales (Morgan Hill, Calif.) was chosen to be the Falcons representative on the 2020 A.I.I. Women’s Basketball Champions of Character team.

Men’s Basketball

After guiding the Fisher College Men’s Basketball team to an eight-win improvement from a year ago, senior Jhalen Lumpkins (Sacramento, Calif.) was selected the A.I.I. Men’s Basketball All-Conference First Team. The veteran guard was a staple in the Falcon offensive game plan as he led the team with 517 points scored, good enough for an 18.5 points per game average. He appeared and started in all 28 games for the 17-11 Falcons, compiling team highs in shooting percentage (48.8%), field goals made (195) and free-throws made (107). Lumpkins was selected as the A.I.I. Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on January 20th and registered three double-doubles while scoring in double-figures in every game played.

Junior Jason Augliera (Discovery Bay, Calif.) was tabbed as an Honorable Mention this season after putting together a solid campaign. He appeared in all 28 games leading the Falcons with 76 three-point attempts made and 36.9% shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Augliera was second on the team with 350 points scored and third with 97 rebounds. He registered his game high of 25 points scored in the team’s 72-54 win at Berkeley (N.Y.) while connecting on seven three-point attempts.

Senior Ville Milan (Turku, Finland) was chosen to be the Fisher Men’s Basketball representative on the 2020 Champions of Character team.

Both the Women’s and Men’s Basketball teams will compete in the 2020 A.I.I. Quarterfinals later tonight. The Women’s team will square off against Washington Adventist beginning at 4pm eastern while the Men battle the College of the Ozarks slated for a 9:15pm EST tip.
