BOSTON, MASS. – A former Falcon has flown home as it was officially announced today that Anthony Perry, Class of 2008, has been named the Assistant Athletic Director/Sports Information for Fisher College.

“I would like to thank Steve Rich (Fisher College President), Sheila Lally (Dean of Student Affairs) and Coach Dulin (Interim Athletic Director) for allowing me the opportunity to return home and become the Assistant Athletic Director.” Perry said when asked about the hiring. “Fisher was the place I fell in love with 18 years ago as a junior in high school and it is a tremendous honor to be back and serve the Fisher community in my new role.”

Over the past 10 years, Perry has been the Sports Information Director and Head Baseball Coach at Rivier University, a NCAA Division III institution in Nashua, New Hampshire. He has accumulated tremendous experience as a SID and was also given other administrative duties as assigned, including being the scheduling coordinator for the department’s 13 varsity teams.

“Anytime we can bring back an alumni, we are going to try to do it.” Dulin commented. “Perry is a proud alumni who has always been there to help us when we needed it. I could not think of a better person to serve in this role than him. His experience in college athletics is vital for us as he has extensive knowledge of how to cover our newest varsity programs in Cross Country and Volleyball.”

While in Nashua, Perry had the opportunity to learn more of the administrative side of college athletics from longtime Raider Athletic Director Joanne Merrill. He has been a member of CoSIDA, the national organization for Sports Information professionals, East-Comm (the east coast organization for Sports Information professionals) while also attending professional development conventions for each organization.

Prior to joining the Raiders staff, Perry worked as the first-ever Sports Information Director here at Fisher College, being named to that position upon graduation in May of 2008. He spent three years as the SID while also filling in and coaching both Men’s and Women’s Soccer along with duties as an Assistant Baseball Coach. Perry also spent a semester long internship in the Fisher Athletic department in the spring of 2007, his junior year, learning the unique inner workings of college athletics from Dulin.

As a student-athlete, Perry helped the Falcons Baseball program to their first Sunrise Conference Championship as a freshman and finished as a four-time conference and NAIA Region X Champion. He was named to the Sunrise Conference All-Conference team three times, the NAIA Region X All-Region team three times and finished as runner up in both Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Year (2005) and Player of the Year (2008).

After finishing his 176 game career in the Falcon Blue and White, Perry became the first-ever Fisher student-athlete to sign a professional contract when he agreed to play for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent Atlantic League (June 2008). He spent two seasons in pro ball before returning home and beginning his full-time career in college athletics. Perry is also enshrined in the Fisher College Athletics Hall of Fame – Class of 2010.

“Work begins immediately in making Fisher College Athletics great again. It will be a lot of work but a challenge that I am willing to take on.”
