UTB erupts for 12 runs in the 8th, down Falcons 12-4

UTB/TSC set a school record for most runs in one inning, erupting for 12 runs in the eighth in a 12-4 win over Fisher College (Mass.) Thursday night at Scorpion Field.

The Scorpions (19-10) and Falcons (0-9) will play the final game of a five-game series at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Scorpion Field.

UTB/TSC trailed Fisher, 4-0, going into the bottom of the eighth inning. The Falcons scored twice in the first on a two-run homer by Davidson Peguero, and added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Fisher starter Casey Reed was cruising along with a two-hitter before tiring in the eighth. He walked the first two batters he faced, allowed a bunt single to Brad Regehr and a two-run single by Scott Frazier that cut the lead to 4-2.

Five other pitchers saw action for Fisher in the eighth inning. Zach Cordia hit a two-run single to make it 4-4 and the rest of the inning seemed like a dream for the Scorpions and nightmare for the Falcons.
