(Lynn, Mass) – The Fisher College Falcons baseball team dropped both games of their double header Monday to College of St. Joseph (Vt.) in their return to Fraser Field. The Fighting Saints beat the Falcons 11-1 in the first game and followed up with a 3-1 victory in the second.

With the two losses, The Falcons are now 19-14 and the Fighting Saints improve to 10-16.

GAME ONE: St. Joseph (Vt.) 11, Fisher College 1

Led by sophomore pitcher Nick Powers' complete game performance and Freshman Brian Quezada's 3-RBI day, St. Joseph (Vt.) rolled over Fisher College 11-1 in the first game of the day.

After St. Joseph (Vt.) scored their first 3 runs in the first two innings, they took the 3-0 lead all the way into the fifth inning. The Fighting saints would add one more to their lead after scoring on a passed ball by Fisher, making it 4-0.

Fisher's lone run of the game would come in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Junior Cody Mercier two-out walked, followed up by a stolen base gave the Falcons their first real scoring opportunity of the game. Mercier then would score on junior Kyle Anualo's RBI-single, cutting the lead to 4-1. The Falcons tried to stay aggressive, but Anualo was caught stealing second base to end the inning.

Yamil Delgado came in relief for Fisher's starting pitcher Kelvin Guzman in the top of the 6th, after Guzman surrendered an RBI-walk. The Fighting saints would go on to score four more runs in the sixth thanks to 2-run single to left field by Quezada.

St. Joseph (Vt.) added three more in the last inning making the final score 11-1.

Guzman did manage to pick up 6 strikeouts in the loss. Guzman currently leads the Falcons in strikeouts with 47 already on the season in only 26.1 innings pitched.

GAME TWO: St. Joseph (VT) 3, Fisher College 1

St. Joseph (VT.) had another dominating pitching performance as they sweep the double header against Fisher College, winning the second game by the score of 3-1.

The Falcons jumped off to an early 1-0 lead after a leadoff home-run by junior Cody Mercier, but the Fisher bats went cold after that. The score would stay 1-0 until the top of the 4th inning.

The Fighting Saints tied the game at 1 and then would add two more in the top of the 7th inning. Sophomore Petar Rumora's clutch 2-run single proved to be the difference as St. Jospeh (Vt.) ended up winning 3-1.
