Falcons close off big day with walk-off victory

(Lynn, Mass.) – In their fourth and final game of the three-way series, the Fisher Falcons defeated the College of Joseph Fighting Saints in walk-off fashion.  The Falcons took the victory 3-2 in eight innings.

 

Freshman Jaime Villafane's (San Juan, Puerto Rico) 1-out base hit in the bottom of the 8th inning secured the victory in a game that was close through all eight innings. Both Reynaldo Moreta (Boston, Mass.) and Angel Perez Vargas (Dorado, Puerto Rico) contributed with an RBI each.

 

Starting pitcher Raymundo Gomez (Lynn, Mass.) pitched a complete game, only giving up two runs and five hits. Gomez had St. Joseph's batters off balance all game eventually leading to his 1st win of the season. With their second win on the day, Fisher improves their record to 22-15 on the season.

 

The Falcons will look to continue their winning ways in a solo game on Sunday morning against the College of St. Joseph before they head back to Rutland, Vermont.
