WALTHAM, Mass. (4/13/17) – The Lasell baseball team pushed across 12 runs – four off its season high – but fell short to the Falcons of Fisher College, 19-12, on Thursday evening at Stein Diamond.

In their second-straight non-conference game, the Lasers fall to 6-11, while the Falcons improve to 24-16.

Both teams combined for 37 hits on the evening, as Andre Marchesseault (Cheshire, Conn.) paced Lasell's offense with four hits, two runs scored, and an RBI. Brandon Valentin (Meriden, Conn.) and David Marsell (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) knocked two runs home in the effort, while Luke Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.), Grant Duford (Simsbury, Conn.), Brandon Arel (Colchester, Vt), and Skylar Beckerman (Pensacola, Fla.) recorded a single RBI.

Hector Coscione (Newton, Mass.) was the lone Laser to knock a multi-base hit, a two-out double in the bottom of the fourth.

The Falcons plated three or more runs in four of nine innings played, as an eight-run fourth distanced them from the home team, 14-6. In the frame, the Falcons blasted a triple, a double, and a home run, with seven runs batted in.

In a staff day on the mound for both teams, Lasell started Lorezo Davis  (West Haven, Conn.) suffered the loss on six earned runs in 1.1 innings tossed. Sophomore starter Zach LeBlanc (Salem, Mass.) earned the win in the minimum five innings pitched, and moves to 5-1 this season.

The Lasers return to GNAC action on Saturday, when they host the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales at 12:00 p.m.
