Fisher Tops Emerson 13-2 In the 'Baseball Between The Boston Commons' Game

The Fisher College Falcons beat the Emerson College Lions 13-2 in a matchup of colleges campuses seperated only by the historic Boston Common.

 Zach LeBlanc has found his rhythm on the mound as of late and has won his last three starts on the mound.  This afternoon he again posted a strong 7.0 innings on the mound allowing two runs on five hits and nine strikeouts.  This outting is coming off his CG 13 K performance last Sunday against Rivier University.  

Early on in the game Emerson gained a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the second as Lions SS Ethan Young hit an RBI single and a Andre Padovani groundball RBI was all the scoring they could produce.  From the second innng on the Falcons scored in every frame with production coming from up and down the lineup.  Catcher Josh Rodgers was red hot at the plate pacing the offense going 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI.  Cody Mercer, Jose Galan and Jonathan Rosado all collected two hits for the Falcons.

The bullpen kept the Lions hitters quite as Haydell Alicea pitched a perfect 8th inning and Ismael Perez came into the ninth to strikeout the side.  

With the win that pushes the Falcons record to 15-13, while the Lions fall to 5-9 on the season.  The Falcons will be back in action this Sunday, April 1st with a doubleheader scheduled against the University of Maine at Presque Isle at Fraser Field.  Game one first pitch is scheduled for 2pm.
