LYNN, MASS. – The Fisher College Baseball team pushed their winning streak to four games this afternoon as they swept visiting Anna Maria College, 11-6 & 8-3. The wins bolter the Falcons overall record to 11-2 while the AMCATS suffer their first two losses of the season and are now 4-2.

Game One: Fisher College 11, Anna Maria College 6 (Final)

Fisher spotted Anna Maria an early 3-0 lead but battled back by scoring runs in each of the first five innings on their way to an 11-6 game one victory.

Junior Christian Dow (Rochester, N.H.) earned the win on the mound and is now 1-1 on the season after pitching five innings. The right-hander allowed three runs (all earned) on ten hits while striking out five. Freshmen Garrett Kingston (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Jeremy Roman (Florida, Puerto Rico) closed out the contest on the mound for Fisher.

Senior Jonathan Rosado (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI to pace the 11-hit Fisher offensive attack. Junior Nicholas Lucchese (Long Island, N.Y.) also added two RBI on his 2-for-3 opening game and sophomore John Batista (Lawrence, Mass.) chipped in with a pair of hits and two RBIs. Freshman Emmanuel Rosado (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) also collected two hits in the win for the Falcons.

Anna Maria saw sophomore James Powers (Folsom, Calif.) go 3-for-3 with two RBI and junior Zac Genovezos (Fairhaven, Mass.) go 2-for-4 in the loss. Two other AMCATS recorded multi-hit games in seniors Adam Twitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.), 2-for-4, and Noah Holland (Sandwich, Mass.), who finished 2-for-3 with a RBI.

Senior right-hander Jack Marzec (Northbridge, Mass.) was credited with the loss on the mound as he allowed eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits over his three innings of work. Freshman Anthony Pingeton (Charlton, Mass.) then allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits during his two innings on the mound while junior Joe Gemelli (Grafton, Mass.) rounded out the pitching staff with a hit-less sixth inning.

Game Two: Fisher College 8, Anna Maria College 3 (Final)

Freshman left-hander Fernando Ortiz (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) tossed three inning of relief as the offensive attack continued during the 8-3 nightcap win for the Falcons.

Ortiz, making his first collegiate appearance, was dominate over his three frames as he allowed just one run (earned) on four hits while striking out four. More importantly, he kept the Falcons in the game during a stretch when the team needed him most. Junior Johann Doerrer (Dogleville, N.Y.) started the game and surrendered just one run (earned) over his three innings and striking out three. Freshman Angel Colon (Boston, Mass.) allowed one unearned run in the seventh as he closed out the team's eleventh win of the season.

It was a close game throughout as it was tied a 2-2 entering the bottom of the fifth. That is when Fisher took the lead for good on a smart heads up slide into the plate by Lucchese. Junior Jacob Deziel (Merrimac, Mass.) was then hit by pitch with the bases loaded to give Fisher some insurance. In the sixth, the Falcons exploded for four runs as junior Jordan Gosselin (Rochester, N.H.) started the inning with a single and later scored on a Lucchese single.

Anna Maria was able to record seven hits in the nightcap with junior Kosta Drosidis (Holden, Mass.) registering the only multi-hit game; he finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Holland added an RBI single as did junior Jarrod Marifiote (Framingham, Mass.) in the loss for the AMCATS.

The loss spoils the outing from senior Fili Veras (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.), who was able to keep the Fisher offense at bay over his four innings of work. The right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits while striking out five. Sophomore Joe Dorman (Sandwich, Mass.) was given the loss as he allowed two runs over 2/3 of an inning. Senior Liam Cunningham (Northbridge, Mass.) then closed out the ballgame by throwing the final 1.1 innings, giving up four runs on five hits.

Fisher will close out the five-game weekend home stand tomorrow afternoon as they host Becker College in a 2pm game. Anna Maria will host Mitchell College on Wednesday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex with first-pitch scheduled for 3pm.
