LYNN, MASS. – The Fisher College Baseball team completed their five-game weekend home-stand this afternoon with a convincing 8-0 win over visiting Becker College at Fraser Field. The win sends the Falcons to 12-2 on the season while the Hawks are now 0-3.

The game lasted roughly three and a half hours but there was a brief hour and fifteen minute delay for a snow squall that completely covered the field. As soon as the sun came back out, the snow cleared and the game was to resume.

Fisher jumped out to an early lead in the first inning as they plated four runs and followed that with another four runs in the bottom of the second. After that, the Becker pitching staff was able to keep the potent Falcon offense at bay. Senior Mitchell Lundholm (Plymouth, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored while classmate Jonathan Rosado (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) knocked in two RBI on his 1-for-2, two stolen base afternoon. Also adding a two-hit performance was freshman Dennis Santiago (Orlando, Fla.) as the rookie finished 2-for-3 with a RBI.

Junior right-hander Norberto Ceballos (Loiza, Puerto Rico) made his first start of the season and tossed two innings of one-hit baseball. Junior Elijah Perez (Lawrence, Mass.) was credited with the win in relief as he pitched three innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one. Sophomore Brian Montanez (Arroyo, Puerto Rico) struck out three over his two no-hit innings of work in his first appearance while classmate Angel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) wrapped up the ballgame with two innings and striking out two.

For Becker, freshman Russel Dunlap (North Attleboro, Mass.) suffered his first loss of the season as he allowed eight runs (four earned) on seven hits and striking out three over four innings. A trio of relievers including freshmen David Piela (Fall River, Mass.), Drew Winch (Kaplan, La.) and sophomore Jacob Worden (Carver, Mass.), combined to throw four innings of two-hit baseball to finish out the game.

Offensively the Hawks managed just three hits with freshman Anthony Conforti (Peabody, Mass.) recording his first collegiate hit and finishing 1-for-2. Seniors Jose Martinez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and Noah Rivera (New Bedford, Mass.) were the other two Hawks to record base knocks.

Fisher will remain home as they return to action on Tuesday evening when they host Saint Joseph's College (Maine). Game time is set for 5pm. Becker will travel to Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday evening with a 4pm start as well.
