LYNN, MASS. – The Fisher College Baseball team earned their 18th win of the season this evening as they defeated visiting Lasell University, 9-6 under the lights at Fraser Field. The Falcons are now 18-3 on the season while the Lasers fall to 1-5. This was the third win of the day for Fisher as they sweep Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in two games earlier on Wednesday.

Fisher got on the board in the second inning as they were able to push across six runs on three hits. Sophomore Reynaldo Vega (Aguada, Puerto Rico) singled home a run before junior Nicholas Lucchese (Long Island, N.Y.) laced a two-RBI single to center for the two run scoring hits of the frame.

Lasell would answer immediately in the top of the third when senior Matt Bischoff (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) singled through the right side to plate the first Laser run and then senior Charlie Danaher (Guilford, Conn.) scampered across on a wild pitch for the second run.

The Falcons plated two more runs in the fourth inning as sophomore John Batista (Lawrence, Mass.) singled home a run and then scored on freshman Ivanuel Hernandez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) double off the right-field fence.

Lasell would not go quiet into the night as they battled back with a run in the fifth and three in the seventh. Senior Sean Doris (Lincoln, R.I.) ripped a two-out, two-RBI single through the right side and two batters later, senior Harrison Silva (Lowell, Mass.) made it an 8-6 game with his own two-out RBI single up the middle.

Fisher would plate an insurance run in the eighth, Lucchese sacrifice fly, as junior Elijah Perez (Lawrence, Mass.) slammed the door shut for his first save of the season.

Sophomore Angel Alicea (Caguas, Puerto Rico) was credited with the win in relief for Fisher as the right-hander tossed 3.1 innings allowing one run (earned) on zero hits and striking out seven. Sophomore Angel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) got the start on the mound and pitched the first 2.1 innings of action before being lifted for Alicea in the third. The young right-hander gave up two runs (both earned) on three hits and struck out four.

Lucchese finished the night knocking in three RBI on his 2-for-5 showing at the dish to lead the 12-hit offensive attack. Vega finished going 2-for-5 and Torres ended his night perfect as he went 3-for-3 with a double and a RBI.

Lasell was paced by senior Justin Banks (Corona, Calif.), who ended his evening by going 2-for-3. Five other Lasers registered hits on the night including sophomore Ross Audet (Swansea, Mass.), who was 1-for-4 with a run scored in the loss. On the mound, freshman C.J. Mills (Waltham, Mass.) suffered his first defeat on the year as he allowed four runs (all earned) on two hits while walking three in his inning plus of work. Grad-student Jack Snyder (Shrewsbury, Mass.) tossed two hit-less innings in relief for Lasell.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Weymouth, Massachusetts for a 1pm double-header at Eastern Nazarene College. Lasell will open up Great Northeast Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon as they host Albertus Magnus College. Game time and location is to be determined.
