WINTER HAVEN, FLA. – The 2021 Fisher College Baseball season came to an end this afternoon as the Falcons fell to #18 Bryan College, 13-5 in the NAIA Baseball Championships Opening Round inside Chain O' Lakes Stadium. The loss finalizes Fisher's overall record at 31-22 while the Lions survive to advance to another elimination game this evening against USC-Beaufort at 7pm.

The Falcons trailed early after a leadoff home run from Bryan and then found themselves in a 7-0 hole heading into the seventh. As they've done all season, the team battled back and broke out for a five-run seventh, highlighted on two-RBI base hits from junior Nicholas Lucchese (Long Island, N.Y.) and junior Jonathan Rosado (Bayamon, Puerto Rico). However, that's where the rally stopped as the Lions were able to tack on six runs over the next two innings to secure the win.

Lucchese finished the contest 1-for-5 with two RBI while Rosado went 1-for-4 with two-RBI. Junior Victor Torres (Rochester, N.Y.) also recorded a RBI as he finished 1-for-3 and junior Reynaldo Mejia (Lawrence, Mass.) added a 1-for-3 performance with a walk. Junior Christian Dow (Rochester, N.H.) was credited with the loss on the mound for the Falcons as he went 4.1 innings allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits and striking out six.

Senior Joseph Cuomo (Canton, Ga.) improved to 9-4 on the season for Bryan as he scattered two hits over six innings. Fellow senior Reece Roach (Summerville, Ga.) was touched up for five runs (all unearned) before a trio of relievers closed the door. Senior Wade Weinburger Jr. (Eleuthera, Bahamas) went 2-for-5 with three RBI to lead the offense while leadoff hitter, classmate Tyler Scott (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) was 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI.
