HENDERSON, TENN. – The Fisher College Baseball continued their toughest stretch of the season this afternoon with the final game of a two-game set at Freed-Hardeman University. The Falcons, hindered by fielding miscue, fell to the Lions – who are receiving votes for the NAIA Top 25 – this afternoon by a 9-1 final. Fisher is now 9-8 overall on the season while FHU improves to 16-5.

Senior Norberto Ceballos (Loiza, Puerto Rico) made his first start of the season and pitched effectively over his 3.1 innings of work. The veteran right-hander allowed three runs on six hits while striking out one. Junior Angel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) then spun four innings on 55 pitches as he surrendered six runs (two earned) on eight hits and retiring two by way of the K. Sophomore Fernando Ortiz (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) cleaned up the final frame with 0.2 innings of work, allowing just one hit.

Offensively, the Falcons were held to just six hits by the staunch FHU pitching staff. Senior Jacob Deziel (Merrimac, Mass.) was the bright spot as he went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. Classmate Jordan Gosselin (Rochester, N.H.) was 1-for-4 with the lone RBI and fellow senior Victor Torres (Rochester, N.Y.) finished 1-for-3 with a stolen base.

FHU was led by senior Kent Rooklin (Covington, Va.), who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases on the afternoon. Junior Will McCall (Columbia, Tenn.) also recorded three hits, 3-for-5, with freshman Christian Pressley (Cordova, Tenn.) adding three RBI on his 1-for-4 performance at the dish. Freshman left-hander Riley Keesey (Round Rock, Texas) picked up his first collegiate win with six innings of shutout baseball allowing only four hits and striking out one.

The Falcons will enjoy a day off tomorrow as they prepare for a four-game series at Lyon College. Games one and two against the Scots, who are expected to be ranked in tomorrow's NAIA Top 25 coaches' poll, are scheduled for Thursday at 2pm EST and 5pm EST.
