LYNN, MASS. – The Fisher College Baseball team returned to Fraser Field this afternoon with a 12-4 win over visiting Emerson College. The win sends the Falcons to a 10-12 overall record while the Lions fall to 5-4.

Senior right-hander Christian Dow (Rochester, N.H.) picked up his third win of the season as he allowed just one run over seven innings of work. Dow scattered three hits while striking out four and issuing one walk. Sophomore Joseph Ortiz (Guayama, Puerto Rico) pitched a scoreless eighth before freshman William De Gracia (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) recorded the final three outs in the ninth to preserve the win.

Sophomore Ben Sawyer (Portland, Maine) was the offensive star as designated hitter went 4-for-5 with three RBI. The Falcons collected 15 hits on the afternoon with eight of the nine starters recording base knocks. Senior Cameron Pearson (Orlando, Fla.) knocked in two RBI as he went 2-for-4 along with classmate Jordan Gosselin (Rochester, N.H.), 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Emerson saw senior Lou Davolio (Worcester, Mass.) leave the ballpark with a solo home run in the seventh to spoil the shutout bid. Junior Jake Hatch (Carlisle, Mass.) added a RBI double in the ninth and Blake Benway lifted a sacrifice fly to record all of the runs batted in for the Lions.

Sophomore Logan Reilly (Montgomery, N.J.) suffered the loss in his season debut as the left-hander allowed eight runs (all earned) on seven hits over an inning and a third. Junior Sam Gutkin (Morristown, N.J.) was the bright spot on the mound as he tossed four innings, limiting the Falcons to just one run on three hits.

Fisher will return to action tomorrow night as they host Penn State-Schuylkill in a Continental Athletic Conference double-header. First pitch is slated for 6pm from Fraser Field. Emerson will also be in double-header action tomorrow as they travel out to Elms College for a 3:30pm first pitch.
