LYNDONVILLE, VT. – Returning to the field for the first time since they captured the 2006 Sunrise Conference Championship, the Fisher College Baseball team remained victorious with a 16-3 triumph over Northern Vermont University – Lyndon. The win inches the Falcons closer to .500 as they are now 22-23 on the season while the Hornets drop to 7-19.

The Falcon offense exploded for 15 hits on the afternoon, including three went for round trippers as they stopped a five-game losing streak. Senior Elijah Perez (Lawrence, Mass.) was one of the many offensive stars as he belted his second home run of the season on his 3-for-4, 5 RBI performance at the dish. Classmate Nicholas Lucchese (Long Island, N.Y.) also recorded a home run, a two-run shot in the fourth, as he went 2-for-3 with two RBI and four runs scored. Fellow veteran, senior Jacob Deziel (Merrimac, Mass.) set the table with a 3-for-6 afternoon and sophomore Ivanuel Hernandez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) was a perfect 3-for-3 with his own two-run home run in the fifth.

Senior Norberto Ceballos (Loiza, Puerto Rico) picked up the win to improve to 2-1 on the hill as the right-hander surrendered three runs (all earned) on four hits and five strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work. Sophomores Joseph Ortiz (Guayama, Puerto Rico) and Yadriel Cuadrado (Yabucoa, Puerto Rico) each tossed scoreless frames in the contest.

NVU senior Cooper Whitehouse (South Berwick, Maine) was credited with the loss as he allowed three runs in just 0.1 innings. Freshman Anthony Ness (Silver Springs, Nev.) was 1-for-2 with a two-run double in the sixth and sophomore Parker Perron (Barton, Vt.) lifted a sacrifice fly to account for all three Hornet runs.

Fisher will be home tomorrow afternoon as they host Bryant & Stratton College – Albany for a four game series. First pitch of the double-header tomorrow is scheduled for 3pm from Fraser Field. NVU-Lyndon will travel to Thomas College for a four game conference series in Waterville, Maine this weekend.
