SAUGUS, MASS. – The Fisher College Baseball team picked up a pair of important wins as they defeated Bryant & Stratton College – Albany, 4-3 and 6-0 this afternoon at World Series Park. The two victories not only improved the Falcons to an overall record of 23-17, it also gave Head Coach Scott Dulin his 600th career victory as a collegiate head coach. He becomes just the 45th Head Coach in NAIA history to reach 600 wins and is one of the winningest coaches in all of New England.

Game One: Fisher College 4, BSC-Albany 3 (Final)

Senior Angel Alicea (Caguas, Puerto Rico) went the distance as the Falcons took the four-game series opener from the Bobcats, 4-3. The right-hander allowed just three runs (all earned) on four hits over seven innings and notched 12 strikeouts in the contest. He improves to 3-3 on the season.

Fisher plated single runs in the first three innings and scored the go-ahead run in the sixth as they came from behind to earn the win. With the score tied at 3-3 in the sixth, junior Emanuel Rosado (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) lifted a sacrifice fly to left that allowed classmate Miguel Torres (Villalba, Puerto Rico) to cross the plate. Alicea then struck out the side in the seventh to secure the victory.

Junior Ivanuel Hernandez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) paced the offensive effort as he went 3-for-3 with a RBI single in the first. Sophomore Coby Johnson (Wells, Maine) was 1-for-4 with a RBI and freshman Yariel Salinas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly.

BSC-Albany saw Pablo Hurtado hit a first inning solo home run to right as he finished 1-for-2. Odilio Cespedes was 1-for-3 with a RBI as both Rocco DeVito and Mike Santos registered base knocks for the Bobcats. Johansel Gomes allowed three runs (two earned) over his three innings of work before giving way to Tommy Rondon, who was credited with the loss after throwing three innings and surrendering the eventual game-winning run.

Game Two: Fisher College 6, BSC-Albany 0 (Final)

As career win #600 for Coach Dulin was within sight, senior Ronald Luke (Malden, Mass.) delivered with a complete game shutout as the Falcons picked up the double-header sweep with a 6-0 game two final.

Luke used just 101 pitches as he limited the Bobcats over the seven innings. The veteran left-hander allowed only four hits while striking out seven to earn his fourth win of the season. Luke is now 4-1 in 2023.

The offense was powered by Salinas, who was 3-for-4 with a RBI. Junior Jeremy Renta (Caguas, Puerto Rico) collected a pair of hits on his 2-for-4 showing while graduate Michael Stellato (Lynnfield, Mass.) added a RBI on his 1-for-3 night at the dish. In total, the Fisher offense pounded out 11 hits in the nightcap.

BSC-Albany starter Orlando Leon also went the distance as he allowed six runs (five earned) on 11 hits while striking out four. Johan Sandoval collected two hits with both Erik Alvarado and Diego Paez registering singles to account for the four-hit offensive output.
