Boston – The Fisher men's basketball team closed out the 2015-2016 season with a 102-75 victory of the University of Maine at Presque Isle Saturday afternoon in the friendly confines of Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium. In his 11th season in at the helm, Head Coach David Lindberg guided the Falcons to a 16-11 record. "I was so proud of our team this year.  We were faced with adversity all year long, but our guys continued to play hard and stay together throughout. Despite falling short of the postseason for the first time in three seasons, the Falcons were still able to post their second straight winning season and fifth in program history. Led by Senior Tyler Shular, Fisher posted an impressive 10-3 home record while staying above .500 on the road with a 6-5 record. Fisher suffered to a 0-3 record in neutral site contests.

"It was a great four years with Tyler," Coach Lindberg said. "He has turned into a very good player, leader, and person who has represented our program well. We will miss his competitiveness and all the things that he has done for us as a player and teammate to our guys."

Shular wasn't the only standout performer on this year's roster. Junior Kyle Holmes (Hamden, Connecticut) averaged a career-best 13.1 points per game while newcomer Malik Wilson (St. Louis Park, Minnesota) added 11.9 points per contest.

Holmes, Wilson, and company will look to return to the A.I.I. Men's Basketball Championships and return to the NAIA Division II National Tournament. They made their last appearance there in 2011.
