Falcons back on track with 88-75 victory

Lynn, Mass. -- After a loss to Cornell University over the weekend, the Falcons jumped back on their A-game and pressed passed the Blue Angels of the College of New Rochelle with an 88-75 victory.  With the victory, the Falcons improve to 8-6 on the season while New Rochelle drops to 5-8 on their season.

New Rochelle started the game off on top of the Falcons, winning the tip-off and taking a 2-0 lead.  Senior Malik Wilson then sunk three shots for 6-points to give the Falcons a 6-5 lead over New Rochelle.  The Blue Angels than came back to take a 10-6 lead. 

Keizhan Hester gave the Falcons a 12-10 lead netting his first of five three point shots.  Hester was responsible for the next 14-points for Fisher, giving them and eight-point lead, 22-14.

The Falcons held a 51-41 lead heading into the half.  Hester was responsible for 19 of the Falcons points while Wilson added 12.  Fisher went 7-13 behind the arc for 53.8% while New Rochelle shot 4-18 for 22.2%. 

Fisher just squeezed the second-half conquest, out-scoring the Blue Angels 37-34 to finish the game off with an 88-75 victory for the Falcons. 

Wilson led the way for the Falcons scoring a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds.  Hester finished the game off with 23 points, going 5-10 from behind the arc and 8-16 inside the paint.  Other key Falcons were seniors Cooper Neal (12 points and 6 rebounds), Darrell Grady (9 points and 6 rebounds), Brodric Smith (9 points and 2 rebounds), and Kyle Holmes (9 points and 11 rebounds). 

The Falcons will return to action on Thursday, January 12 when they travel to Randolph Center, Vermont to take on Vermont Technical College at 5:00 p.m.  The College of New Rochelle will also return to action on Thursday when they host Pine Manor College in New Rochelle, New York.
