Men's Basketball: Oha Jr.'s double-double lifts Falcons past Bobcats in Overtime, 87-82

LYNN, MASS. – It took an extra five-minutes of action however the Fisher College Men's Basketball team survived this evening as they held on to defeat Bryant and Stratton College-Rochester, 87-82 in a non-conference contest inside the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium. The win lifts the Falcons to 15-10 overall on the season while the Bobcats stumble to 8-14 on the year.

Senior Paul Oha Jr. (Antioch, Calif.) registered a double-double for the Falcons as he finished his night with 16 points and eleven rebounds. Junior Jason Augliera (Discovery Bay, Calif.) was the team leader with 20 point scored on the night and senior Jhalen Lumpkins (Sacramento, Calif.) provided additional support with 13 points. Rounding out the group of five different Falcons to register a double-digit point night as senior Chris Sorapuru (Temecula, Calif.) added eleven points in a reserve effort.

BSC-Rochester was powered by freshman Shandare Figgins (Rochester, N.Y.), who ended the with the game-high 22 points while also drilling the game-tying jumper with time expiring in regulation to force the overtime period. Sophomore Marucs Zappia (Greece, N.Y.) added 17 points and freshman Elrok Clark (Rochester, N.Y.) chipped in with 14 points in the loss. Also shining bright for the Bobcats was sophomore Victor Caldwell (Rochester, N.Y.) who pumped in 12 points off the bench.

Fisher will enjoy a day of rest before returning to action on Sunday afternoon with a senior day matinee against the University of Maine-Fort Kent. Game time is slated to begin at 2pm. Bryant & Stratton will face UMFK tomorrow afternoon in Boston at 2:30pm.
