Men's Basketball: Falcons kick-off 2021-22 season at Wheaton College

NORTON, MASS. – The Fisher College Men's Basketball team kicked off their 2021-22 regular season this evening as they traveled to Wheaton College. The Falcons fell despite a strong offensive performance, 117-98 to the Lyons and are now 0-1 to being the campaign. Wheaton improves to 1-2 overall.

Freshman Ke'Andre Penceal (Coram, N.Y.) paced the Fisher offense as he was 50% from the floor on his way to a team-high 26 points. Penceal was 8-for-16 from the floor, including a 4-for-6 mark from beyond the arc while collecting seven rebounds. Sophomore Kyle Butler-Gaffney (Liverpool, N.Y.) shot 7-for-15 to finish with 18 points and picked up the team-high of eight rebounds and dished out eight assists. Senior Chris Lennear (Sacramento, Calif.), junior Tanner Hoffman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and junior Goddy Marc (West Orange, N.J.), all finished with 12 points each to account for the double-digit scoring from the Falcons.

Wheaton was supported by a pair of 34-point scorers in juniors Aaron Williams (Springfield, Mass.) and Alex Carlisle (St. Johnsbury, Vt.). Williams was solid on the floor as he shot 13-for-16 and picked up 17 rebounds for the games only double-double. Carlisle did his damage from the charity stripe as he knocked down 15-of-19 free throws on his way to the game-high in points scored. Juniors Patrick Oed (The Woodland, Texas) and Marckenley Lima (Roslindale, Mass.) each finished with 13 points on the night while classmate Evan Cook (Dunstable, Mass.) rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points.

Fisher will return to action this weekend with a pair of Continental Athletic Conference contests at Pennsylvania State University – Schuylkill. The two game set will begin on Friday night with a 6pm tip before game two's 12pm start on Saturday. Wheaton will host Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon at 1pm in their next scheduled contest.
