Men's Basketball: Falcons fall to Florida College

BROOKLINE, MASS. – The Fisher College Men's Basketball team returned to action this afternoon as they hosted fellow Continental Athletic Conference foe, Florida College inside the Pappas Gymnasium. In the battle of the Falcons, Fisher fell to 4-9 on the season with a 114-69 defeat to Florida College, who improved to 17-2.

Junior Kyle Butler-Gaffney (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the Fisher offense with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor in a reserve effort. Fellow junior Josiah Patton (Hopkinsville, Ky.) added 12 points on the afternoon with classmate Goddy Marc (West Orange, N.J.) also registering a double-digit effort as he finished with 10 points. Junior Johnny Ortiz (Boston, Mass.) collected six rebounds and notched eight points in the loss.

For Florida College, senior Chinedu Okonkwo (Samaru, Nigeria) was one of five student-athletes to record double-digit games as he paced the offensive attack with 23 points. Freshman Anthony Bittar (Clearwater, Fla.) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds while junior Bryan Chong (Temple Terrace, Fla.) knocked down five three-pointers to finish with 19 points. Sophomore Jashavius Perdue (Montgomery, Ala.) and freshman Drew Kramer (Lakeland, Fla.) each contributed 12 points off the bench for Florida College.

Fisher will return to action on Tuesday evening as they travel to Quincy for a 7pm tipoff at Eastern Nazarene College. Florida College, who were receiving votes (RV) in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, will return home to the sunshine state as they host Voorhees College in a CAC contest on Tuesday evening at 6pm.
