Men's Basketball: Falcons suffer setback at Point Park (Pa.)

PITTSBURGH, PA. – The Fisher College Men's Basketball team played their first road contest of the season this evening as they fell to Point Park University, 114-75 in NAIA action. The loss sends the Falcons to 1-1 on the season while the Pioneers remain perfect to begin the season at 3-0.

Junior Ke'Andre Penceal (Coram, N.Y.) led the way offensively for the Falcons as he finished with 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the floor. Sophomore Cross Bandy (Bronx, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points on the evening while both senior Brian Rios (El Paso, Texas) and junior Joel Finney (Los Angeles, Calif.) added 12 points each in a reserve effort. Senior Christian Finney (Los Angeles, Calif.) was the team's rebound leader with six boards in the loss.

Point Park received a 27-point, 18-rebound night from junior Jo Valrie (Houston, Texas), who was 9-for-16 from the field on his way to the game's only double-double. Senior Jalen Stamps (Indianapolis, Ind.) contributed with 24 points while junior Nazareth Fisher (Washington, D.C.) notched 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Pioneers.

Fisher will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Ohio to battle Wilberforce University in a Continental Athletic Conference contest. Game time is slated to begin at 3pm. Point Park will also be in action tomorrow as they host Penn State – Schuylkill at 7pm.
