Men's Basketball: Falcons fly past Villa Maria

BROOKLINE, MASS. – The Fisher College Men's Basketball team erased an early 14-point deficit as they stormed back to defeat visiting Villa Maria College, 96-85 inside the Pappas Gymnasium. The win lifts the Falcons to a 5-2 record on the season while the Vikings fall to 5-4.

Junior Joel Finney (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the way for the Falcons offensively as he recorded the game-high 28 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, including 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. Sophomore Cross Bandy (Bronx, N.Y.) also made eight field goals on the evening to finish with 23 points. Senior Christian Finney (Los Angeles, Calif.) was one rebound shy of a double-double as he totaled nine rebounds to go along with his 15 points scored. Classmate Brian Rios (El Paso, Texas) and sophomore Jad Reda (San Antonio, Texas) were the other two Falcons to reach double figures as they netted 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Keeping pace with Joel Finney as Villa Maria junior Damario James (Buffalo, N.Y.), who had 27 points on the night on 11-of-18 shooting from the floor. Senior Master Radford (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished with a double-double as he collected the game-high 10 rebounds while adding 23 points. Junior Juston Johnson (Buffalo, N.Y.) ended his evening with 14 points scored for the Vikings in the loss.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow afternoon. Fisher will host Bryant & Stratton College – Syracuse in a 3pm contest. Villa Maria remains on the east coast as they travel up to Southern Maine for a 3pm tipoff as well.
