Men's Basketball: Rios, Falcons outlast BSC-Buffalo

BROOKLINE, MASS. – A pair of free throws from junior Joel Finney (Los Angeles, Calif.) with five seconds remaining was the difference as the Fisher College Men's Basketball team survived a late run to earn the 91-89 victory over Bryant & Stratton College – Buffalo. The win sends the Falcons to an overall record of 12-4 on the season while the Bobcats slide to 12-6.

Finney finished the game with a team-high 23 points and five assists. Senior Brian Rios (El Paso, Texas) was 7-for-11 from the floor as he totaled 18 points and collected seven rebounds. Sophomore Jad Reda (San Antonio, Texas) chipped in with 19 points off the bench for the Falcons along with classmate Jalen Anderson (Charlottesville, Va.), who ended his afternoon with 14 points in a reserve effort. Senior Dakota Gillespie (El Paso, Texas) had seven assists, eight rebounds (team-high), and 10 points to round out the double-digit scoring effort from the home team.

The Bobcats were paced by junior Armonee Felder (Detroit, Mich.), who totaled the game-high 24 points and dished out seven assists. Senior Kalon Kimble (Buffalo, N.Y.) netted a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, including eight defensive boards. Also finishing with 22 points was senior Deric Jackson (Salisbury, Md.), who came off the bench and shot 10-for-14 from the floor.

BSC-Buffalo held the slight edge on the afternoon shooting 51.9% compared to Fisher's 49.3%. However, the Falcons were 12-for-27 from beyond the arc (44.4%) while the Bobcats shot just 1-for-10 (10.0%). BSC-Buffalo also outrebounded the Falcons, 43-37 on the day.

Next up for Fisher will be a road contest on Tuesday night. The Falcons will travel to Vermont State University Randolph for a 7pm tipoff in a rematch of the midnight season opener. The Bobcats, meanwhile, will return to action next Saturday afternoon with a game at Cheney University (Pa.).
