Men's Basketball: Falcons open up conference play in Florida

TEMPLE TERRACE, FLA. -The Fisher College Men's Basketball team dropped a tough NAIA Conference (CAC) contest to Florida National University, 98-88. With the loss, the Falcons' record stands at 3-8, while Florida National improves to 3-12 on the season.

Senior Ke'Andre Penceal (Coram, N.Y.) led the way for Fisher, putting up an impressive 28 points in the game. Junior Anthony Douglas Jr. (East Hartford, Conn.) was a force on the boards, pulling down 8 rebounds to complement his 12 points. Senior Keith Rupert (Indianapolis, Ind.) also had a strong showing, contributing 21 points in just 19 minutes of play.

For Florida National, sophomore Jeremy Arnum (Torrington, Conn.) was the standout performer, leading all scorers with 30 points. Junior Gary Adams (Miami, Fla.) also played a key role, scoring 21 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Sophomore Ralph Laurent (Hollywood, Fla.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds to help the Conquistadors secure the win.

The Falcons will look to bounce back when they face Florida College in a road matchup on Saturday, January 11, at 1 p.m. Florida National will next travel to Takoma Park, MD, for a contest against Washington Adventist University on January 19 at 2 p.m.
