Men's Basketball: Fisher comes up empty in battle of the Falcons

TEMPLE TERRACE, FLA. – The Fisher College Men's Basketball team came up just short in a hard-fought NAIA Conference game, falling to Florida College 71-68. With the loss, the Falcons' record stands at 3-9, while Florida College improves to 6-12.

Senior Keith Rupert (Indianapolis, Ind.) was the top scorer for Fisher, putting up 18 points in just 20 minutes of play. Junior Ezekiel Edwards (Ettrick, Va.) led the team on the boards, providing a strong presence in the paint and obtaining 9 rebounds. Junior Anthony Douglas Jr. (East Hartford, Conn.) and Junior Jordan Whitaker (Aurora, Colo.) both contributed 11 points each in the effort.

For Florida College, Chase Hettinger led all scorers with 21 points, while Malik Beauford posted a double-double performance, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Nate Duda (Framingham, Mass.) added 17 points to help secure the victory for the Falcons.

Fisher will look to bounce back when they travel to Takoma Park, Maryland, to face Washington Adventist University on Saturday, January 18, at 9:15 p.m. Florida College will return to action the same day, hosting Southeastern University with a 3 p.m. tip-off.
