Boston – The men's soccer team looked to redeem themselves against the team who knocked them out of the Association of Independent Institutions conference playoffs last fall 3-0.  Today, Johnson & Whales University of Colorado (JWU) slapped it on when they took a 4-0 victory from the Falcons.

The Falcons fought hard from the start and didn't allow a goal until the 14th minute.  Tanner Hoffman opened the scoring for the Wildcats on an assist by Christian Gallegos.  The Falcons defense stepped it up a notched after the first goal keeping the short leash for the next 20 minutes before JWU scored again to make the score 2-0. 

The first half wasn't completely dominated by the Wildcats as they outshot the Falcons 14-8.  The second half was a little bit of a different story with JWU outshooting Fisher 14-4. 

Fisher battled with heart in the second half, but it wasn't enough to stop the Wildcats.  Twenty minutes into the second half, Gallegos scored the third goal for JWU to put them up 3-0 over the Falcons.  At the end of the 74th minute there was a quick substitution for the Wildcats and five second into the 75th minute, bench player Nick Darnell scored the final goal just seconds after stepping onto the pitch. 

Eliseu DePina, although he took the loss in the net, made nine saves an allowed four goals against the Wildcats who are now 2-0 against the Falcons.  Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Collier was able to pick up his second win of the season for JWU as him and his teammates shutout the Falcons in a 4-0 victory.

Fisher will have a couple days to re-strategize before they play host to Berkeley College of New York on Saturday, September 3 at Hormel Stadium in Medford, Mass.  First kick is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. to complete a women and men's soccer double-header.  JWU will take on their sister school JWU of North Carolina Friday, September 2 when they play in the JWU Cup hosted by sister school in Providence, Rhode Island.
