Knights Out Shine Falcons 5-1

Medford, Mass.—The Fisher College men's soccer teams drops under .500 as they fall to 5-6 on the season.  Berkeley College of New Jersey handed the Falcons a 5-1 loss on Saturday afternoon at Medford High School.  The Knights jump to over .500 as they improve to 6-5 on the season with the victory.

In a very physical game, Berkeley jumped on the board first in the 11th minute when Nathan Malka scored the first goal to put the Knights up 1-0.  Senior forward Tyler Gahara answered back in the 30th minute to knot the game at one.

Knights' offense wasn't giving the Falcons a break as they kept pounding and pushing forward in Falcons territory.  The fury kept building for Berkeley as they were continuously called for off-sides, but it payed off as they took a 2-1 lead over the Falcons with just over 5-minutes left in the half.

Fisher defense battled the entire game to keep the ball out of their territory.  Time quickly expired and the game went into halftime with the 2-1 score in favor of the Knights.

Tom Pugliese and Jordan Markovich battled a tough match and although several of their shots were close, they were not enough to push the Falcons ahead.  The Knights were able to put two more goals passed Falcon goalkeeper Eliseu DiPena in the second half before head coach John Del Valle made the change in net.

Guerson Saintil replaced DiPena and let up one more goal to give Berkeley their 5-1 lead over the Falcons.  The pressure continued to build on the Falcons defense, but time expired before another shot was taken ending the game with a 5-1 victory for the Knights.

DiPena took the loss for the Falcons in the net allowing 4 goals and making 4 saves.  Saintil made 3 saves only allowing one goal in his 28 minutes of play.

The Falcons will head to the Machias, Maine to take on the University of Maine at Machias on Monday, October 10.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
