Pugliese Leads Falcons in 3-0 Victory

Medford, Mass. – Senior forward Tom Pugliese put up 2-goals over the Owls in the Falcons' 3-0 victory Sunday afternoon.  The Falcons hosted the University of Maine Presque Isle on Sunday afternoon for their final match of the season.  The Falcons were victorious in both match-ups against the Owls taking the first game 3-1 and this game 3-0.

The game started off slow for both teams with no scoring happening in the first 20 minutes of play.  That was until Edson Bazil knocked in a pass from Tyler Gahara to put the Falcons up 1-0 over the Owls.  Pugliese did the same in the 43rd minute of the game to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead over the Owls heading into half-time.

After the break, Pulgiese tested the Owls defense and scored his second goal of the game to put the Falcons up 3-0.  That goal would be the last goal of the game with both teams playing hard in the half, but not being successful in getting the ball past the goal keeper.  With time expiring Fisher took the 3-0 victory over UMPI.

Eliseu DiPena earned the victory in net making three saves with no goals against him for a shutout victory.

The Falcons will return to action when they head to Hampshire College on Thursday, October 20 for a 4:00 p.m. kick-off.
