Amherst, Mass. – On Thursday, October 20, the Fisher College men's soccer team traveled to Amherst, Mass. to take on Hampshire College where they were able to come home with a 6-0 victory. The Falcons jumped back to .500 on the season with a 7-7 record.
Tom Pugliese opened the scoring for the Falcons in the 11th minute to take a 1-0 on a pass from Kervens Surpris. Tyler Gahara then added another goal just before the break to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
In the first half, the Falcons outshot Hampshire 15-2, but Hampshire managed 5 saves in the first half.
The second half was a dominant half for the Falcons busting open the scoring with 4 goals in 20 minutes for the 6-0 victory.
Gahara scored his second goal in the 58th minute putting the Falcons up 3-0 with 30 minutes left. Edson Bazil had back-to-back goals in the 68th and 77th minutes for a 5-0 lead. Pugliese scored his second goal and the final goal of the game in the 79th minute.
Eliseu DiPena got the shutout victory in net making 4 saves with 4 shots on goal. The Falcons dominated the full 90-minutes taking 33 shots over Hampshire's 11 shots.
The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. in a men's and women's double-head against SUNY – Delhi. The match will be held at Hormel Stadium in Medford, Mass. where it will also be Fan Appreciation Day.
