Falcons Dominate Knights 7-0

Medford, Mass. – On a dreary Saturday afternoon, the Fisher College Falcons men's soccer team shined brighter than the sun when they battled against The King's College and were victorious with a score of 7-0.  The Falcons who will be heading to Denver, Colo. for the A.I.I. Conference Tournament are now 8-9 on the season with one game left.

 

From the first touch of the match, the Falcons ruled the game as senior Jordan Markovich took a shot right after the whistle blew to initiate the match.  Fellow senior Tom Pugliese put the Falcons on the board with a goal in the 2nd minute.  Pugliese increased Fisher's lead to 2-0 not even a minute and a half later when Walter Factor shot, it deflected off of the goalie and Pugliese tapped the ball in net.

 

In the 14th minute, Pugliese took a corner kick and placed it in front of the goal where Steven Jagba headed the ball into the net to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead.  After four unsuccessful team shots, senior Tyler Gahara sunk a shot in the back of the net to up the Fisher lead to 4-0. 

 

Minutes later, Carlos Acevedo subbed in and scored a goal for the Falcons.  The Falcons now held a 5-0 lead heading into the break. 

 

After the break, the Falcons continued to battle hard adding two more goals from Markovich for a 7-0 lead with 22 minutes left to play in the match.

 

Eliseu DiPena took the victory in net as he made 1 save with 1 shot on goal.  Guerson Santil took over the second half in net, but helped his defensive line protect the field against the Knights.  The Falcons were dominant in the game outshooting the Knights 33-3 with 20 of the shots being on goal.

 

The Falcons will return to Hormel Stadium on Tuesday, November 1 as they play host to Pine Manor College.  First touch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., but prior to the match, the Falcons will recognize their seniors in their final home game.
