West Hartford, CT- Freshman Joel Bailey (Deridder, LA) scored his first collegiate goal in the first half of today's match against the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays (3-1), tying up the score 1-1, but the Falcons (1-2) were unable to hold on as they dropped a non-conference match, 3-1.  After USJ got on the board first at the 25:24 minute mark by a score from Jared Galarza (Newington, CT), Bailey responded just four minutes later on a great ball from Junior Kervens Surpris (Pompano Beach, FL) who was able to beat Blue Jays keeper Anes Gadun (Clinton, MA) for the score. Falcons freshman Leonardo Mildor (Pompano Beach, FL) was the only other Falcon to get a shot on goal in the half, but Gadun was able to make a great save at the 33rd minute. The two teams headed to halftime notched at a goal a piece with both teams having scoring opportunities throughout the half as the two teams combined for 9 shots in the first 45 minutes.  However it was the Blue Jays that took over in the second half, outscoring the Falcons 2-0 while outnumbering them 16-3 in shots.

USJ scored their second goal on a Fisher own goal as Falcons goalie Christopher Garcia (Rowland Heights, CA) made an impressive save on the first USJ shot Hayden Burbank (Southington, CT), but the ricochet bounced in off a Falcons defender, making it a 2-1 game at the 56th mark.  Garcia was able to make four more saves in the next 30 minutes keeping the Falcons within reach, until Daniel Castro (Willimantic, CT) got one by him in the last minute of the game finishing it with a score of 3-1.

The Falcons have almost a week to rest as their next scheduled contest is next Monday as they will head to Framingham State to take on the Rams at 4:30pm.
