The Falcons Cruise In A 4-0 Victory Over The Huskies

Medford, MA- The Men's Soccer team earned a convincing win on Monday evening over the visiting Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies. The Falcons got a pair of goals in each half and cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Huskies. The win improves the Falcons record to 5-3-1 this season.

The Falcons ball handling skills were on display as they controlled the pace for much of the contest, taking control of the game right from the first whistle. The Falcons earned three corner kicks before the five minute mark, creating four scoring chances over the early stretch. Fisher continued to keep the ball in their offensive end and at the 9:32 mark got their first chance to take the lead as Andree Molina (El Paso, TX) was fouled from behind in the box. Molina struck home the penalty shot for his 5th goal of the season, giving his team the 1-0 lead. FC extended their lead just minutes later as Ryan McCassie (Waltham, MA) found an open Jonathan Collins (Southwick, MA) who knocked home a shot from the left side of the box for his second of the year. Word of Life tightened up the defense the remainder of the half, as they were able to keep it 2-0 heading to the break.

Fisher picked up right where they left off in the second half, peppering WOLBI's keeper Timothy Gainey with shot after shot. Molina was able to beat Gainey at the 59:51 mark for this second tally of the game and 6th overall, giving his team a comfortable 3-0 lead. The Falcons had a chance for another goal after Pedro Wagner (Porto Alegre, Brazil) headed a beautiful corner kick from Daisuke Suzuki (Yokohama, Japan) but Gainey nabbed it and was able to keep it a 3-0 game. It looked like it would end with the 3-0 score until the 86th minute when Molina made a perfect cross in front of the net for Marco Savi (Burlington, MA) who headed it into the net for his first goal of the season. The assist was Molina's 7th of the season and he now has 19 points to lead the team.

Falcons keeper Christopher Garcia (Rowland Heights, CA) was solid in goal, saving the four shots on goal he faced from the Huskies, to earn his 5th win of the year. Gainey made eight saves for the Huskies but was handed the loss. Molina and Suzuki led all shooters with a combined nine shots on the day. WOLBI was led by Kevin Porras who finished with a pair of shots in the losing effort.

The Falcons are back at it again Wednesday evening when they play host to the Anna Maria Amcats. The action kicks off at 5:30pm and live stats for the contest can be found here.
