MEDFORD, MASS. – The Fisher College Men's Soccer team hosted their first soccer match since 2019 this evening as they entertained visiting Lasell University for a non-conference contest at Hormel Stadium. The Falcons battled back with three second half goals to force overtime however the Lasers were able to score the golden goal for the 4-3 victory.

Lasell got on the board in the first half when Will DeSousa banged home a loose ball inside the 18' to make it an early 1-nil advantage at 18:04. Six minutes later, the Lasers doubled their lead as Chris Belliveau found the back of the net to give the visitors a 2-0 lead and it remained that score after the first 45 was completed.

The second half was all Fisher as the Falcons received stellar play from freshman Lansee Conde (Fayetteville, N.C.), who provided a spark off the bench and scored his first goal at 59:58. Ten minutes later, Lasell responded with a Jaydon Perez tally from Dylan Thambirasa at 69:31. Less than a minute later, Conde was in the middle of the action again as he set up teammate junior Pedro Ruiz (Santa Barbara, Calif.) to get the Falcons within one.

As time was winding down in regulation, the Falcons received the advantage of a Lasell foul from about 35 yards out. A beautiful free kick play design allowed freshman Brian Medina (Austin, Texas) to rifle off a shot that spun backwards and curved into the far side of the net to tie the game at 3-3 inside the 87th minute and force overtime.

Shortly after kickoff, Lasell was able to earn the victory as Simon Nigro bolted down the middle of the field with possession and chipped into the back of the net to give the Lasers a 4-3 win.

Senior goalkeeper Christopher Garcia (Rowland Heights, Calif.) made seven saves on the night while his counterpart, Lasell's Zachary LaWare stopped eight of the eleven shots he faced.

Lasell held the advantage in shots (19-17), corners (7-2) while the team drew even in fouls (14) over the 90+ minute contest.

Fisher will enjoy a day off tomorrow with their next scheduled contest set for Monday evening at Bryant & Stratton College – Albany. Kickoff is set for 6pm.
