Men's Soccer: Falcons battle in setback at Saint Joseph

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. -  The Fisher College Men's Soccer team dropped a contest this afternoon to the University of Saint Joseph, 3-2 at USJ's soccer field. The loss sends the Falcons to 1-7-1 for an overall record. USJ slides to 6-1-1.

The defensive effort for the Falcons was led by senior goalkeeper Rafael Fabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 8 saves in his 90 minutes of play. The offensive effort was paced by sophomore Drake Hampton (Queen Creek, Ariz.) having the first goal for Fisher in the 34rd minute. The team's second goal was made by junior Carlos Egipciaco (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) in the loss for the Falcons.

USJ's offense started with a goal in the 37th minute by senior Benjamin Marchetti (Higgaman, Conn.). The momentum continued with the team's second goal by grad student DeAnte Anderson (Bloomfield, Conn.) and the third by senior Mergim Kutllovci (Thomaston, Conn.) in the win for the Blue Jays.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will be hosting the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday for a 12pm start time. The University of Saint Joseph will be traveling to Saint Joseph in Maine on Saturday with a 4:30pm start.
