Men's Soccer: Falcons pick up win at NVU-Johnson

JOHNSON, VT. - The Fisher College Men's Soccer team earned a win this afternoon over Northern Vermont University-Johnson, 4-1 at Mineart Field. The victory sends the Falcons to 1-4-1 for an overall record. Northern Vermont-Johnson slides to 1-4-1.

Senior Akil Frank (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) led the offensive effort for the Falcons scoring 2 out of the teams 4 goals in the game. Sophomore Mario Iglesias (San Juan, Puerto Rico) has the team's 2nd goal in the 42nd minute. Senior Lorenzo Brugiati (Ascoli Piceno, Italy) has the team's 3rd goal in the 56th minute of the game. The defensive effort was led by senior goalkeeper Rafael Fabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 9 saves in his 90 minutes of play.

Northern Vermont-Johnson's defensive effort was led by grad student Carlos Dominguez as the goalkeeper with 7 saves in his 90 minutes of play. The team's only goal was made by freshman Eliud Villarreal (Mission, TX) assisted by freshman Lucas Gehring (Wildwood Crest, NJ) .

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will be traveling to Eastern Connecticut State University on Tuesday with a 4:30pm start time. Northern Vermont-Johnson will be headed to the University of Maine-Farmington on Saturday with a 1pm start.
