Men's Soccer: Falcons blanked by Rivier, 2-0

NASHUA, N.H. -  The Fisher Men's Soccer team dropped a contest this evening to Rivier University, 2-0. The loss sends the Falcons to 0-4-1 for an overall record. Rivier slides to 2-1-1 in their season.

Sophomore Mario Iglesias (San Juan, Puerto Rico) led the defensive effort for the Falcons with 2 saves in his 90 minutes of play. Although the offensive end was slow, junior Juan Pablo Villalobos (El Paso, Texas) was able to get 2 shots in while sophomore Lois Cougoulou (La Ciotat, France), sophomore Drake Hampton (Queen Creek, Ariz.), senior Lorenzo Brugiati (Ascoli Piceno, Italy), junior Moshe Mesika (Miramar, Fla), and senior Christian Millan (El Paso, Texas) each got 1 shot a piece.

River's momentum started the game in the 42nd minute of the game with a goal by sophomore Cody Sicard (Salem, NH) assisted by sophomore Charles Hayes (Whethersfield, Ct). The second goal for the Raiders was made by sophomore Jason Harlow (Naples, Maine) unassisted. The defensive effort was led by junior goalkeeper Dominic Cunha (Peabody, Mass.) with 2 saves in his 90 minutes of play.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will be traveling to Northern Vermont-Johnson on Sunday for a 1pm start time. Rivier will be traveling to Albertus Magnus on Saturday for a 12pm start.
