Men's Soccer: Fabra, Falcons fall at Eastern Connecticut

WILLIMANTIC, CONN. - The Fisher College Men's Soccer team dropped a contest this afternoon to Eastern Connecticut State University, 1-0 at Thomas Nevers Field. The loss sends the Falcons to 1-5-1 for an overall record. Eastern Connecticut slides to 3-2-2.

The defensive effort for the Falcons was led by senior goalkeeper Rafael Fabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 6 saves in his 90 minutes of play. The offensive effort was paced by senior Akil Frank (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) and sophomore Lois Cougoulou (La Ciotat, France) having 2 shots a piece.

Eastern Connecticuts offense was led by freshman Niall O'Brien (Guilford, Conn.) who had the team's only goal that was assisted by senior Andres Mayuri (West Hartford, Conn.). The defensive pace was set by sophomore Nathan Yeich (Willington, Conn.) with 2 saves in his 90 minutes of play in the win for the Warriors.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will be hosting Berkeley College on Sunday with a 10:30 start time. Eastern Connecticut will be traveling to the University of Southern Maine on Saturday with a 3pm start.
