Men's Soccer; Frank nets a pair in 3-3 tie at UMPI

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE -  The Fisher College Men's Soccer team tied University of Maine at Presque Isle this afternoon, 3-3 at Park Family Field. The tie sends the Falcons to 0-3-1. UMPI will slide to 1-1-2.

The offensive effort for the Falcon's was led by senior Akil Frank (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) with 2 goals in the tie. The third goal was given by sophomore Drake Hampton (Queen Creek, Ariz.) assisted by freshman Alejandro Caballero (Gijon, Spain). Fisher's defense was paced by senior Rafael Fabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 4 saves in his 68 minutes of play.

University of Maine at Presque Isle's offense was set by sophomore Josh Thomas (Mars Hill, Me) with the first goal at the 7th minute. The momentum continued with goals from sophomore Diego Vega (Chicago, Illinois) as well as junior Remar Shirely (Lake Worth, Fla.). The defensive effort was set by freshman Xavier McAttee (Presque Isle, Me) with 7 saves in the tie.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will travel to Nashua, NH to play Rivier University on Wednesday at 7pm. UMPI will travel to the University of Maine-Framingham on Saturday for a 1pm start.
