GWINNETT, GA. – The Continental Athletic Conference announced earlier today that Fisher College freshman Drake Hampton (Queen Creek, Ariz.) has been named the conference's Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first time that Hampton has been awarded by the conference and it is also the first time since week one of the 2021 season that a Fisher Men's Soccer student-athlete received a weekly conference accolade.
Hampton scored a goal in both contests this past week for the Falcons. The forward found the back of the net for the team's first goal in the 3-2 loss at the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Wednesday evening. Hampton then proceed to convert on a penalty kick for the game-tying goal in the team's eventual 2-1 triumph over the University of Maine-Presque Isle yesterday afternoon. For the week, he totaled five shots on goal and attempted eight total shots.
Hampton and the rest of the Men's Soccer team will return to the pitch on Thursday evening as they travel to Gorham, Maine for a 7pm kickoff at the University of Southern Maine.
