Men's Soccer: Falcons blanked by Salem State

SALEM, MASS. - The Fisher College Men's Soccer team drops a contest to Salem State University this evening, 6-0 at Alumni Field. The tie sends the Falcons to 2-11-2. Dean will slide to 9-4-2.

The offensive effort for the Falcon's was led by sophomore Drake Hampton (Queen Creek, Ariz.) with 2 shot attempts. Following him was junior Juan Pablo Villalobos (El Paso, TX) having 1 shot attempt. Fisher's defense was paced by senior Rafael Fabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 14 saves in his 90 minutes of play.

Salem State's offense was led by junior Brendan Davis (Dracut, Mass.) having 3 of the team's 6 goals in the 10th, 12th, and 15th minute of the game. Following Davis's momentum were goals by sophomore Walaeddine Hounane (Salem, NH) and freshman Felipe DeSouza (Medford, Mass.) to finish the half for the Vikings. The final goal for Salem was made by freshman Michael Tavares (New Bedford, Mass.) in the 54th minute. The defensive pace was set by senior goalkeeper Matt Hauntsman (Milford, NH) with 2 saves in his 65 minutes of play.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will be hosting a conference game against the Washington Adventist University Shock on Sunday at Hormel Stadium with a 1pm start. Salem State will be traveling to MCLA to play the Trailblazers on Friday at 6pm.
