Men's Soccer: Falcons blank VSU-Lyndon for first win of 2023

LYNDONVILLE, VT. – Junior Mitchell Bourdeau (St. Albans, Vt.) had quite the homecoming this afternoon as his hat-trick propelled the Fisher College Men's Soccer team to a 13-0 win over Vermont State University-Lyndon. The win is the first of the season for the Falcons as they are now 1-0-1 while the Hornets fall to 0-2-0.

Bourdeau jump started the scoring as his first two goals came just 27 seconds part in the first half. He later finished the three-goal effort with a tally in the 57th minute. Hugo Rodriguez also netted a pair of goals 27 seconds apart in the opening half while eight other Falcons scored one goal each.

Fisher outshot Lyndon, 53-2 in the contest. The two shots for Lyndon were not on net and junior goalkeeper Eduardo Navarro (Tucson, Ariz.) picked up the clean-sheet victory without making a save. His counterpart, Roberto McDonald (Arnold, Md.) made eleven saves over his 90 minutes of action.

The Falcons will return to action on Sunday morning as they host Bryant & Stratton College – Syracuse in a 10am kickoff from Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere, Mass. VSU-Lyndon will battle Lesley University in a conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
