Men's Soccer: Di Biase, Falcons best UMFK 2-0

MEDFORD, MASS. – The Fisher College Men's Soccer team capped off their record-breaking regular season this afternoon with a clean-sheet 2-0 victory over visiting University of Maine-Fort Kent inside the friendly confines of Hormel Stadium. The win propels the Falcons to their best regular season record at 12-3-3 while the Bengals conclude their regular season at 6-3-1.

Freshman Leonardo Di Biase (Empoli, Italy) scored his 11th goal of the year in the 14th minute to give the Falcons a lead they would not relinquish. Di Biase collected a pass from classmate Tim Schwarz (Wiesbaden, Germany) and fired a shot past the UMFK keeper and into the back of the net. Di Biase would add another goal as he tucked his free kick from outside the 18 into the upper 90 for a 2-0 advantage.

That would be all the offense Fisher would need as junior Eduardo Navarro (Tucson, Ariz.) stopped all five shots he faced on net for his 5th clean-sheet victory of the year. He finishes his first season with the Falcons with 12 victories, the most in a single-season by a Falcon keeper.

UMFK's Romeo Daniels made five saves as well in the 90-minute affair as he is now 6-3-1 on the season.

Fisher will now await their fate for the Continental Athletic Conference tournament. If they are selected, they will play in the CAC Semifinals on Thursday, November 9th.
