Men's Soccer: Di Biase, Schwarz tabbed CAC All-Conference selections

Story written by Anthony Perry '08, Fisher College Associate Director of Athletics

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. – The Continental Athletic Conference unveiled their 2023 All-Conference team yesterday and two members of the Fisher College Men's Soccer team were selected for the post-season honors.

Under the leadership of Head Coach John Del Valle, the Falcons completed their best season in program history. The Men's team went an amazing 12-3-3 on the year with quality wins over conference foe Washington Adventist, perennial USCAA powerhouse Bryant & Stratton – Syracuse, and a pair of victories over long-time opponent Maine-Fort Kent. Unfortunately, the Falcons were not selected to compete in the 2023 CAC Post-Season Tournament after a tremendous season, however here are the two members who did receive conference recognition.

Second Team: Leonardo Di Biase, Freshman from Empoli, Italy

Di Biase turned in one of the most prolific true freshman seasons in program history since Andree Molina in 2019. The Italian forward scored 12 goals across the 18 games and added three assists in leading the Falcons to the program's best overall record. He recorded the biggest goal in program history to date, a last-minute game-winner in the team's 1-0 win over Maine-Fort Kent on September 23rd. It was the program's first win ever against the former NAIA members since the two teams began playing against each other annually in 2007. Di Biase accumulated four game-winning goals this season, including another one against UMFK and the lone goal in the 1-0 win at Washington Adventist.

He was named the CAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Offensive Player of the Week back on October 30th. Di Biase becomes the first Fisher Men's Soccer student-athlete to be named to either the all-conference first or second team since Matt Miller was selected the 2017 All-Conference second team.

Honorable Mention: Tim Schwarz, Freshman from Wiesbaden, Germany

Schwarz was listed as an honorable mention after being the main facilitator for the Falcon offense in 2023. The German native led the team with seven assists on the season while also scoring six goals of his own. He played in all 18 contests for Fisher, with 17 starts and recorded 19 total points. He did score one game-winning goal as it came against the University of Maine-Presque Isle on October 14th. Schwarz had back-to-back two goal games this season and recorded a multi-assist contest at Vermont State – Lyndon.
